The sound is a bit surprising at the first listening, very spatial, the organ is very present, seems to come from the top as if they were using the regular church organ. Not very well known pieces, but Haydn's genius is definitely there!
In the concertos, fresh and luminous, the hapsichord is flying on invigorating musical figures... - pleasant from the first listening. The divertimento is richer from instrumental perspective, and ideally balances the whole program. |

We have so many interpretations of the Requiem on the market that to propose the quite-rare string quartet arrangement from Lichtenthal looks already new and worths listening.
