All three musicians playing here are masters of their instruments and the included tracks are excellent. Imaginative improvisation with spicy latin feeling. Two discs feature over two hours of amazing material and you can find this release at some stores for the price of a one regular SACD. The ... more

Great debut album from Norah Jones. There's no weak spots on the album, almost all tracks are equally excellent. The CD was already sonicwise a top notch, SACD is better, but not by a huge margin. MC mix is an improvement to stereo, although not very imaginitive.

Schmidt's 4th symphony is dark and intense, quite heavy at times. I'm sure there's no problem with the performance. Overall, the sonics seem to be maybe a bit too nice for this kind of music. Imo "smaller scale music" works better in Pentatone's releases with it's close micing and rich, pure sounds. ... more

The sonics here are first rate. Definitely one of the best sounding SACDs I've so far listened to. The Pentatone albums seem to be recorded close and this suites more than well for the music presented in this fine disc. Multichannel mix is once again, as in most Pentatone discs, quite conservative. ... more

Very enjoyable and natural sonics. The solo violin and the orchestra sound pure and rich. Sounds like the mics have been very close and the atmosphere is intimate.
