For those who like to have a score to read while listening, you can read Arnesen's full score of 'Magnificat' in PDF form on his website (http://www.kimarnesen.com/#!view-scores/c1m1h).
Unfortunately, for those who like to download their PDF scores onto their iPads, this won't work as the format is Adobe's Flash, disowned by Apple.

John,
Little bit confused.
This disc is listed as SACD and Blu Ray and Hybrid, in the description of disc, seems confusing, unless it is a two disc set.

Mark, 2L, A Norwegian Classical label, sometimes includes both a BD~A and an SACD (with identicial content) and if you've never heard this label, it's pretty amazing. Sometimes the BD~A has 9.1 AURO in addition to stereo and 5.1.

2L's sonics are spectacular! I have over 25 of their albums.

Addenda: Just ordered Arnesen's Magnificat!

I ordered.

Just one. I promise.

My great grandmother is from Denmark, so Norway is close and I have quite a bit of Norwegian friends, they are good carpenters.

You might also want to order Remote Galaxy by Flint Juventino Beppe on 2L (just a BD~A, NO SACD but also 5.1 and 9.1 Auro) which is up for a 2014 Grammy as Best Engineered surround album.

Just one, Mark ;-) ?

Order arrived today. My wife and I are listening now, she loves it.

Sounds absolutely fantastic, literally like inside of cathedral.

Glad you're lovin' it. My copy is enroute. IMHO, all 2L's productions are superb (see my above post, Mark).

This is one of the finest MCH recordings I know -- superb sound in all parameters. As a point of comparison for those (like me) unfamilar with Arnesen's music, think Howard Goodall's Requiem: a beautiful, melodic work of great spirituality. Arnesen and Goodall share a similar aesthetic and sound world, IMO.

Played the BD~A 5.1 last night and I wholeheartedly concur with all the mini reviews: an absolutely stunning performance matched by state of the art sonics.

One can only imagine how magnificent it sounds in 9.1 3D Auro!

Magnificat comes packaged in a double super jewel case with a 5.1 hybrid SACD.
