Just got it from the UK. Excellent sonics. The multi-channel mix really brings the music to life but is not overdone. The best of the Ferry solo efforts IMO.

A modern classic with good sonics although this music would lend itself very favorably to multi channel.

Some of the best sonics I have heard in multi channel. Very mellow music. Perfect for a rainy afternoon. I have listened to it at least 30 times and never have tired of it. Even if you don't think you like Beck you should check this out. It is like a mellow version of Mutations

One of my all time favorites is my favorite SACD .The multi channel mix is done just right. I feel like I am listening to Am radio when I hear the CD now. I have a Denon 2900 and the Steely Dan Guacho SACD will only play some of the time but I have played hundreds of discs and that is the only one that has problems. On an ealier post someone said that those machines can sometimes be troublesome with certain discs. ... more

I'm a casual classical music listener & would like to know if there is a consensis best perfomances of the ninth and of those which has the best sonics to date on SACD?
