Thanks for the advice Ralph. I have tried everything I could think of, including careful mat and disc alignment. I am not sure exactly what you mean by 'in the recess area of the tray' - I avoided putting the bumpers such that they overlapped the recess in case they fouled the spinning disc. I tried one of the Marigo mats in my Marantz SA11s2 and the results were truly excellent when the mat stayed in place, but, and it was a big BUT, more often than not the mat slipped off the disc when the tray closed and fouled up in the mechanism with an awful noise. No, the earlier Japanese EMI SACDs were hybrids, and, as I mentioned earlier,the change to single-layer seems to be in response to popular demand in Japan. As far as I can tell the reissues in this release are of the Abbey Road team remasterings, as are the new titles. ... more |
