This thread is to encourage and support the SA-CD.net community on all rock music topics. It is not meant to take away from any discussions on any specific reviews.

The focus still remains true to anything SACD, hybrid, multichannel, and Blu Ray Audio.

The Forum guidelines still pertain to all of us.

Lets see how this goes. My reason for a Rock Thread is that many discussions on rock SACD or Blu Ray discs go off topic and the off topic discussion is fascinating and fun to be a part of. If a person is seeing a certain title they may not know that there are discussions of other rock music within that thread.

This thread, my hopes, can be a one stop shop for all off topic threads. Great information cannot be missed.

AS an example: We all want to be true to our SACD's but once and awhile the reviews of a certain SACD our not positive. It is nice when some one can have the freedom to post that, that version, for instance is better in DVD~A.

Enjoy.

I will be first to start. Happy Thanksgiving to all.

I received in mail yesterday the complete Hybrid SACD box set of Creedence Clearwater Revival. I ordered so long ago I forgot.

I noticed the box is different than as advertised, long and size of jewel case. This new box is size of LP's with foam cutout to support the discs.

Obviously one box fits all.

My Japan SHM SACD order has left. So I think I have about 20 SACD's to get to know, this will take awhile.

Hi Mark,
Thanks for creating this thread, which I believe to be an excellent idea. The main musical genre represented by the format is classical and a vast majority of threads here do concern this genre - which I don't denigrate as I'm an admirer myself.
I do love rock music and deplore the lack of rock titles under the format.
However, I have to say the few existing titles do justice to the genre and the format, though many of them regrettably are OOP.

Regarding Credence Clearwater Revival, did you get the chance to hear the Analogue Productions ones ? I own them and am curious to know how other editions sound compared to them. As I love SHM SA-CDs, I'm quite sure they must be quite well done.

Anthony, glad you think this is a good idea.

Yes, these CCR discs are the AP box set. I have only listened to disc #1 and sounds great. These came out when I was in eight grade, loving music and learning about girls, what a story.

These came out at least 15 years before I was born... but what a story too, regarding how I discovered it... and have been loving it since I was a kid !

Sorry... but if this is any consolation, my musical taste make me an old fool for people my age, even a bit older (35 - 40 years old)...

OK, ready to have the 4 day push for lots of music. Just rode my bike for 2.5 hours and feeling good.

CDJapan arrived with all SHM SACD from Stones, to Dire Straits, Miles and BB.

This is on top of what arrived a couple days ago, all SACd's, combo of hybrids, MCH, and SHM.

I must say the new RBCD of Simple Minds, Big Music, is absolutely great, they captured there signature sound in 2014 perfectly.

Next up the serious listen to the HFPA of Bryan Adams, Reckless, cant decide to start with stereo or MCH?

Awaiting a SHM-SACD CDJapan order as well : Dire Straits: Alchemy and Miles Davis Quintet: Workin' with the Miles Davis Quintet. I wanted them so much when they were still out there but never had enough money for all the SHM SA-CDs on my wishlist and I had to establish priorities. Then they turned OOP. I wish I has as much money as many members of this site.
Other orders to follow, of course, but I'll wait a bit so European customs authorities won't stab me with import taxes.
Regarding your freshly arrived Reckless BD-A, I advise you to start with ST and go on with MCH... the perfect way to progress into the discovery of a release IMHO.
